Armed Robbers Attacks Juliet Ibrahim and Husband
As you read this, Screen Diva Juliet Ibrahim is still
distraught after robbers attacked her and her
husband last night.
The actress who had been in the States for the
past few weeks, got back into the country on
Tuesday only to fall victim to the unfortunate
incident. At about 11 pm last night the actress
updated her status in panic asking friends to
send her direct lines to the police. When the
media contacted the 4-Play star, she was still
traumatized and couldn’t speak much.
Yesterday, she stepped out with her husband
earlier during the night and it is believed the
robbers trailed them from there and followed
them home to rob them, making away with their
phones, iPads and some cash. Fortunately no one
was hurt in the process.
She and her husband are both safe and trying
to get over the unfortunate incident. We are
hoping the police can track down the brain
behind this incident and will keep you posted
concerning the outcome of their investigations.

Linda Hogan: Arrested for Drunk Driving
In the Hulk Hogan sex tape making its way
around the Internet, this former WWE
champion receives oral pleasure.
His ex-wife, conversely, underwent an
especially non-pleasurable experience last
night: she was pulled over on suspicious of
drunk driving.
According to TMZ, cops pulled over Linda
Hogan around 1:30 a.m. in Malibu after
stopped her for speeding. She was taken to a
nearby police station and released hours later
on $5,000 bail.
A rep for Hulk's ex-wife claims Hogan was on
her way home from a party, where she only
had one glass of champagne.
But it was on an empty stomach (of course).
And she's been taking antibiotics that
increase the effects of alcohol (naturally).
The 53-year old, based on the arrest record,
stands 5'7" and weighs 160 pounds.

Obama Fundraiser's Bin Laden Movie To Hit Screen Two Days Before Elections

Osama bin Laden in the Situation Room of the

Two days before the presidential election, a film
embellishing the death of Osama bin Laden will
be released by a company whose co-chairman
has raised more than $100,000 for the Obama
Victory Fund.
The film, titled “Seal Team Six: The Raid on
Osama bin Laden,” will air on the National
Geographic Channel on Nov. 4. The channel
claims it is not political and using the debut date
to help promote the start of its fall season, the
Associated Press reported.
But Harvey Weinstein, co-chairman of The
Weinstein Co. and Voltage Pictures – which
produced the film – is an avid supporter of the
president’s re-election.
Weinstein hosted an election fundraiser for
President Obama at his Westport, Connecticut
home in early August, where the cost of
attendance to a 50-person dinner was $35,800
per head. But the event wasn’t Weinstein’s first
Obama fundraiser. The film producer and movie
chairman has donated over $75,000 to
Democratic campaigns this election cycle and
more than $100,000 to the Obama Victory Fund.
Obama’s re-election campaign has often hyped
up the former terrorist leader’s death at the
hands of US Navy SEALs as an example of the
president’s leadership. Many have called the al-
Qaeda leader’s killing one of Obama’s greatest
successes.
The National Geographic Channel claims the film’s
debut date, scheduled just 48 hours before the
election, is not meant to sway voters into
supporting Obama.
“Harvey obviously doesn’t schedule our network,”
the channel’s president, Howard T. Owens, told
the Associated Press. The channel is “not political.
We are opportunistic from a programming
perspective,” he added.
The channel also asserts that the film is meant
purely to give a historical account of the events
surrounding bin Laden’s death – not take a
political stance.
“While some aspects of the characterizations have
been dramatized for creative reasons, the core
story is an accurate portrayal of an event that
ended the longest manhunt in American history,”
stated a National Geographic news release.
But some continue to perceive the debut as a
secret weapon of Obama campaign supporters,
especially when examining the extensive
fundraising efforts made the film’s producer.
Netflix subscribers will have access to the film a
day after its premiere – and one day before the
presidential election.
Armed Robbers Force Housewives To Prepare Food While Raiding Home In Lagos
Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers last
fortnight stormed Celenzia Community in
Okokomaiko area of Lagos State and
subjected the residents to untold hardship
and torture.
They particularly struck at 2, Charley Pace
Street, broke into the flats and tied their
husbands together while the women were
compelled to bring all they have in their
kitchens. As the women were busy preparing
delicious dishes for them, the bandits
ransacked their apartments and collected
over N235, 000 including their valuables.
Victims said their operation started at about
7.00pm in the evening and ended at about
10:30pm.
Crime Alert learnt that before their operation,
four members of the gang sneaked into a
two-storey building at about 6.00pm and
hung around the pent house which no one
occupies for about an hour.
One of the tenants in the building was
reported to have seen them but could not
confront them thinking they were visiting a
co-tenant. It was also discovered that the
robbers used a neighbour that is familiar
with the tenants to penetrate each and
every flat in the building. When Crime Alert
visited the scene, different accounts of the
victims were taken. The first eye witness, a
tenant who pleaded anonymity said: "I was
lying down when I saw one of the robbers
loitering around and I challenged him,
asking him what he was doing in front of my
flat.He replied me aggressively and brought
out a gun, so I surrendered to him. He told
me that he will not hurt me if I cooperated
with him and that I should go upstairs into
one of my neighbour's flat because that was
where other tenants were been kept.
One robbers held tenants hostage
"When I got there, I saw the other tenants in
the room. The men had their hands tied and
their lips were sealed with tape. It was just
one robber that kept us hostage, he was
holding a gun while the rest were searching
the flats. When we were finally released, I
discovered that my flat was turned upside
down and they carted away N30,000 from
my flat."
Another victim who told Crime Alert that she
went out to throw away waste when one of
the robbers pointed a gun at her and forced
her to go back to her flat narrated her story.
She said: "I was going out to throw away
waste when one of the robbers pointed a
gun at me and ordered me back to my
flat."He said if I failed to cooperate that he
will 'seize my breadth', so I went inside. He
asked me to bring all that I have with me
and I told him that I had nothing with me,
he searched the house, collected my phone
and told me to go out and knock at the door
of other neighbours of which I told him that I
am a visitor and I don't know
anybody."Another victim said that neither
she nor her husband was around at the time
of the robbery, and that she was returning
from the market when she heard a cry for
help from the building and quickly ran to the
leader of the community security to lay her
compliant.
Community security
"I was just returning from the market when I
heard a cry from the building shouting thief!
thief!! I ran to complain to the leader of our
community security who responded immediately
but we could not catch up with the robbers who
had left before we got there."
The leader of the community security who is
simply called "Baba catch", said that he alerted
other members of the community security
immediately he was informed about the robbery
but could not catch up with the robbers.
"I was told by passers-by that the robbers crossed
through a wooden bridge that leads to another
community and that a suspected boy in a military
camouflage was caught some minutes after the
robbers crossed the same bridge but was
released after some interrogation.
"I alerted my boys immediately I was informed by
a tenant of the building that robbers invaded
their homes. We did not catch up with them and
I ordered my boys to comb the community. Later,
we were told that they crossed over to the other
community through a wooden bridge. When we
got the bridge, we sighted an under aged man in
a military polo and we stopped and interrogated
him to know who he was and he aggressively
responded that he was a solider but could not
present his identity.
"I have to call a retired military officer that lives in
the community to come and attest to the claims
and when he came, the boy later confessed not
belonging to the Nigerian army but a member of
the boyscout. That was after he was slapped on
the face by the angry ex-military officer. However,
he was freed after the interrogation."
Flood: Man, Wife, 2 Children Die In Boat Accident.
ENUGU—A family of four got drowned
yesterday while on their way to a refugee
camp at Iggah, Enugu State, after their
house at Odeke community in Kogi State was
submerged in flood.
This came on a day chairman of Uzo-Uwani
Local Government Area of Enugu State, Mr.
Cornel Onwubuya, presented relief materials
worth about N5 million to Kogi State flood
victims who fled their state and are currently
camping in communities within Enugu State.
Sources said the victims, including a man, his
wife and two childdren, were sailing in a
wooden canoe when the goats they were
taking along in the boat began to disturb the
movement of the boat and in an attempt to
calm the goats down, the boat capsized and
all the occupants drowned in the flood.
It was also learnt yesterday that a woman
delivered a baby in a boat while fleeing the
flood at Ibaji community, while another gave
birth at Iggah refugee camp shortly after
arriving the camp.
The nursing mothers are said to be in dire of
need of medical attention which is lacking in
the area just as the aid agencies which could
have provided such assistance are yet to
arrive at the camps.
The materials donated to the refugees at the
three camps yesterday by the local
government included 100 bags of rice,4 bags
of beans, drugs, 500 mosquito treated nets,
100 bags of toilet rolls , 20 gallons of 25 kg
groundnut oil, 75 torch-lights with batteries,
cartoons of disinfectants, bags of onions ,
cartons of maggi cubes, 30 bags of salt,
cartons of bathing and washing soaps, mats
and blankets, trailer load of sachet water,
bottled water, among other essential items.
Onwubuya, while making the donation,
appealed to the federal government to also
come to the aid of the victims, adding that
the local government council was in touch
with the Kogi State government and its
Enugu State counterpart in respect of the
plight of the victims.
Nigeria Floods kill Dozens, Wash Hippos and Crocodiles Into Homes- CNN
Ravaging floods killed dozens in Nigeria
and displaced tens of thousands of residents as
crocodiles, hippos and other water animals
washed into homes.
The floods have left 148 people dead and affected
21 of the nation's three dozens states, according
to the local Red Cross.
"Torrential downpours in recent weeks have
caused widespread destruction and forced many
families into makeshift camps," the aid agency
said on its website. "An estimated 134,000
people have now been affected by the floods and
concern is growing about the spread of
waterborne diseases."
The floods have affected a series of states,
including Bayelsa and Benue.
In Bayelsa state, an official said the area's terrain
has intensified the effects of the downpour.
"It is like Florida ... swampy with a lot of sea water
mixed with fresh water because we are close to
rivers and the Atlantic (ocean)," said Tam
Alazigha, the chief economic adviser for the state.
"A lot of people have been displaced. Snakes,
crocodiles and hippos have been displaced and
are ending up in people's homes. Everyone has
been displaced."
Alazigha said more rain is forecast and authorities
are evacuating residents to shelters that have
been set up in schools located on higher ground.
"The bad part is ... there is no relief yet," he said.
State officials are working to enhance drainage
around the buldging rivers, according to the
adviser.
"Our main goals are to help settle the displaced
people and improve on the drainage," he said.
"Our hope is that when the drainage gets better
and the waters subside, we can deploy more
resources to see how much we can save."
Alazigha said the amount of rain was unexpected.
"It took us by surprise," he said. "We need help
from those agencies that are out there that
usually help out in situations like these. All hands
are on deck, but it is quite a challenge."
In the state of Benue, more than 25, 000 people
were displaced after a local river overflowed, the
National Emergency Management Agency said.
Nigeria's rainy season occurs between May and
October. Torrential rains are especially hard on
communities in rural areas, where drainage is
inadequate or nonexistent.
Last month, authorities urged residents living
along River Niger to move to higher ground. The
evacuation order affected the states of Niger,
Kogi, Kwara, Kebbi, Anambra and Delta.
The Real Housewives of Miami: She Beat Me to the Tweet!
The Real Housewives of Miami gossip, back
stab, and cry "She Beat me to the Tweet!"
We recap all of the "nice nasties" in our THG
+/- review.
I have one thought when I watch this show.
Miami is gorgeous. Unfortunately, I can't say
the same about the women, at least not after
you spend some time with them.
After last week's debacle at Mynt, Romain and
Joanna need to talk. He's fed up, with
reason. When Joanna plays it off like it was
only because she was drunk, Romain shoots
back "Maybe you're drunk every day."
Minus 12. That's a big problem.
He asked her not to drink so much and cause
any drama on his special night. So much for
that. He needs more than an apology. He
needs to know she'll change.
Minus 10. Don't hold your breath, Pal.
Then in another twist, Joanna says she got a
call at 4am from a staff member at Mynt.
They said Romain was their making out with a
dancer.
So if Joanna thought this was real, why not
get out of bed and head down to the club?
Was she too tired, or too hungover to care? Of
course the one thing she must do is tell her
sister. Minus 8.
I know she has to tell someone but her sister
already hates Romain. No good can come of
this.
Minus 11. Marta has to spread the word to
the other ladies. There's a surprise. She says
if it's true she'll cut his balls off. That might
carry more weight if she weren't leeching off
of him and her sister. It's past time for Marta
to move out and get her own place.
Across town Adriana is being photographed
by a famous photographer for an art show.
Plus 10. Sounds like fun. The twist is that
he wants shots of her topless.
At first Adriana is completely against it. Then
she waffles. Minus 7. One minute she's
incredibly uncomfortable and the next she's
taking her shirt off. That didn't take much
encouragement.
In the end, plus 14. She's a beautiful woman
and the photos looked great…at least what
we could see in the fuzzy televised versions.
And a plus 11 to Frederic who in one of the
funnier moves of the night whipped out his
iPhone to make sure he got some shots for his
private collection.
The photos are great but the art show is
weird. Not necessarily the art itself but the
guests.
Minus 15 to Lea. She's such a b*tch! Who
views a friend's portrait and asks how much
airbrushing they did? Or how about when
she sees that someone bought the photo and
accuses Adriana of being the buyer.
Even if she was kidding it was pretty lame but
apparently Adriana doesn't see it that way.
She give Lea a pass on all of it but happily
bashes Karent for much lesser offenses.
Minus 9 because Adriana's downright cruel
about it as she mimic Karent in front of their
friends.
And I'd happily hand out extra points if
someone could stop her from screeching "She
Beat me to the Tweet!" Really. She tweeted
before you could. Oh, the horror.
Maybe she learned the art of back biting from
good friend Lea who drags James, aka Elaine
to the event with the intention of bashing
Marysol some more in public. Plus 12 to Ana
for trying to stand up for her friend.
Karent's taking it from all sides this week.
She's got Lea and Adriana tearing her down
and her mother telling her she hates Rodolfo.
Unfortunately I've got to side with Mom on
this one. If Karent's looking to get married, I
don't believe the problems is that the timing
isn't right. I think the guy isn't right.
Lisa and Lenny have real problems. They've
been trying to have a baby for three years to
no avail. Add on three miscarriages and
they're feeling the strain.
Plus 15 to Lisa who seems to be one of the
few people bothered by all of the gossip and
back stabbing going on by these women.
Everyone else just enjoys the drama.
The ladies all show up for Gay Christmas…or
Winterfest and Lea's still making snarky
comments about Karent. Minus 10. That
seems to be her gift. Well, that and marrying
rich.
Joanna dancing is the main attraction but
they don't really show it. Just odd cuts of her
in different poses. Minus 8. Was she that
bad?
And I wouldn't bash Ana for having a stylist…
what Housewife doesn't need one…but what
is she paying her for? That purple dress
looked like it came off the rack at Target.
Minus 7.
Nothing against Target but these women
pride themselves on their designer collections
and that was one boring, frumpy looking
outfit.
There was no sobbing this week, or drunken
binges but we did get lots of back stabbing
and some nudity so in the end it all evens
out.
