Facebook to adopt add tracking

Facebook is working with a contentious data company called Datalogix, known for tracking people who see adds on social networking sites and go on and buy those products later on. Amidst pressure to prove the value of its advertising, Facebook is considering new techniques that have raised concerns among some privacy campaigners. Datalogix will match the email address and other personal information associated with store loyalty cards, with emails and data used to set up Facebook accounts. Datalogix then compiles a report for Facebook and its advertisers so they can work out which ads work best and what demographic to target. “We kept hearing back [from marketers] that we needed to push further and help then do a better job,” Brad Smallwood, Facebook’s head of measurement and insights told the Financial Times. Mr. Smallwood continued that for every dollar a marketer spent on Facebook it earned an additional $3 million in incremental sales. But some privacy advocates question whether the practice violates the $9.5 million settlement Facebook reached with the US federal Trade Commission, over charges that it deceived customers by not keeping privacy promises.  Currently Facebook users are automatically included in advertising studies with Datalogix and cannot directly opt out through their Facebook accounts. Jeff Chester, executive director of the Centre for Digital Democracy, a privacy campaigners group told the Financial Times that this practice doesn’t provide Facebook users with sufficient control over their data.  “We don’t believe any of this online-offline data should be used without express consumer approval and an opt-in,” He said.

Beyonce: Pregnant Again?!?

Will another Countdown soon be on for Beyonce? According to Hollywood Life sources, the singer is absolutely, positively, 100% expecting another child with Jay-Z. The supposed news broke after Beyonce showed up at La Marina in Washington Heights on September 23 and was clearly showing a baby bump, witnesses claim. Beyonce and her music mogul of a husband are parents to Blue Ivy Carter, of course, who broke the Internet with her birth about eight months ago. Asked about his client already planning a second child, Beyonce's rep simply replied: "I do not comment on her personal life.” WG does, however. If this story is valid, we're ever so happy for Hollywood's First Couple!

Tactical Baby Kidnapping...

Oluwatoniloba David Obafemi was kidnapped by Comfort Amos on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at RCCG, Central Parish, Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja. Comfort Amos is a member of the church choir where Timothy Taiwo Obafemi (Toni's Father) is the Deputy HOD of the choir. Comfort Amos unusually sat where the nursing mothers sat in church on Sunday and particularly sat beside Mariah Toyin Obafemi (Toni's mother), who is also a Sunday School teacher. Comfort carried and played with Toniloba and after some minutes requested that she wanted to go give her house-help money for 'offering' in the children's church. She left with Toniloba. After some minutes, Toyin got unsettled and decided to go look for Comfort. All efforts to track Comfort has since proven abortive. Wole Shonibare, a church member called Comfort and she confirmed she was in Jabi Park and when she was advised to return the baby, she snapped back at him that she will return the baby. All efforts to speak with Comfort after that has been fruitless. Toni is 9months old while Comfort is 40/41 years old. She was last tracked to Shendam, Plateau State. In case of any useful info, contact should be made to the child's parents 08075672060 and 08064966277 or the nearest police station. Please do assist in the search.
