Nigerian Couple In UK Allowed By High Court To Keep Alleged Stolen Baby
A couple, who could not have children, have
been told by the High Court in United
Kingdom they can keep a baby born in
Nigeria, despite tests showing they were not
the child’s biological parents.
The mother said she was tricked by a doctor
into believing she had given birth while
sedated, after she went to Nigeria for fertility
treatment.
But the judge ruled they were victims of an
“appalling scam.”
The presiding judge Mr. Justice Coleridge
added the case was “extraordinary, bizarre
and worrying.”
Charities meanwhile have raised concerns
about the judgement, warning it may
encourage trafficking.
At the High Court on Thursday, Mr. Justice
Coleridge ruled that the pair, who he
described as people of the “highest calibre”,
should be given custody of the girl who is
nearly two years old.
The couple – who live in London but cannot
be named for legal reasons – failed to
conceive a child despite undergoing IVF
treatment in the UK.
They were said to be “desperate and
distressed”.
In 2010, the couple travelled to Nigeria
where the woman received fertility
treatment at a private clinic.
She told the court that when she returned to
the clinic months later she was sedated.
When she regained consciousness she was
handed a baby and told she had given birth.
On her return to London, a GP raised
concerns. The child was taken into care and
a DNA test proved the child was not related
to the couple.
They then launched legal proceedings to get
custody.
The court was told that such “baby
exchange” frauds were common in Nigeria.
Muslim Herdsmen Attack Christain Village In Benue State Killing 30 People
Nomadic Muslim herdsmen attacked a
Christian village in central Nigeria over long-
running land disputes, killing at least 30
people in their latest assault, police said
Wednesday.
The attack in Benue state comes as a bomb
exploded Wednesday in northeast Nigeria,
apparently killing a police officer and
sparking reprisal attacks by the military in
the region, residents said.
In Benue state, the attack Sunday targeted
a rural village of Christian Tiv people called
Yogbo in the state, police spokesman Daniel
Ezeala said. After the attack, those living
there fled, community leader Daniel
Tsenghul said.
The Tiv are one the largest of the minority
ethnic groups in Nigeria, a nation of more
than 160 million people and more than 250
different ethnicities.
The Tiv and the Hausa-Fulani herdsmen have
previously fought over land in Benue. In
December, authorities said fighting between
the two groups displaced some 5,000
people.
Meanwhile, a bomb detonated Wednesday
morning in Potiskum, Yobe state, which
targeted soldiers in the city trying to fight
the radical Islamist sect known as Boko
Haram.
Security forces later cordoned off large
portions of the city and began a door-to-door
search, state police commissioner Patrick
Egbuniwe said. Residents there said they
heard gunshots throughout the day as
soldiers raided civilian homes. At least four
homes were set ablaze by soldiers, the
residents said.
British Engineers Produce Amazing 'Petrol from Air' Technology
A small company in the north of England has
developed the “air capture” technology to
create synthetic petrol using only air and
electricity. Experts last night hailed the
astonishing breakthrough as a potential
“game-changer” in the battle against climate
change and a saviour for the world’s energy
crisis.
The technology, presented to a London
engineering conference this week, removes
carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The
“petrol from air” technology involves taking
sodium hydroxide and mixing it with carbon
dioxide before "electrolysing" the sodium
carbonate that it produces to form pure
carbon dioxide. Hydrogen is then produced
by electrolysing water vapour captured with
a dehumidifier.
The company, Air Fuel Syndication, then
uses the carbon dioxide and hydrogen to
produce methanol which in turn is passed
through a gasoline fuel reactor, creating
petrol.
Company officials say they had produced five
litres of petrol in less than three months from
a small refinery in Stockton-on-Tees, Teesside.
The fuel that is produced can be used in any
regular petrol tank and, if renewable energy
is used to provide the electricity it could
become “completely carbon neutral”.
The £1.1m project, in development for the
past two years, is being funded by a group of
unnamed philanthropists who believe the
technology could prove to be a lucrative way
of creating renewable energy.
While the technology has the backing of
Britain’s Institution of Mechanical Engineers,
it has yet to capture the interest of major oil
companies.
But company executives hope to build a large
plant, which could produce more than a
tonne of petrol every day, within two years
and a refinery size operation within the next
15 years.
Tonight Institution of Mechanical Engineers
(IMechE) officials admitted that while the
described the technology as being “too good
to be true but it is true”, it could prove to be
a “game-changer” in the battle against
climate change.
Stephen Tetlow, the IMechE chief executive,
hailed the breakthrough as “truly
groundbreaking”.
“It has the potential to become a great British
success story, which opens up a crucial
opportunity to reduce carbon emissions,” he
said.
“It also has the potential to reduce our
exposure to an increasingly volatile global
energy market.
“The potential to provide a variety of
sustainable fuels for today’s vehicles and
infrastructure is especially exciting.”
Dr Tim Fox, the organisation's head of energy
and environment, added: “Air capture
technology ultimately has the potential to
become a game-changer in our quest to
avoid dangerous climate change.”
Peter Harrison, the company’s 58 year-old
chief executive, told The Daily Telegraph that
he was “excited” about the technology’s
potential, which “uses renewable energy in a
slightly different way”.
“People do find it unusual when I tell them
what we are working on and realise what it
means,” said Mr Harrison, a civil engineer
from Darlington, Co Durham.
“It is an opportunity for a technology to make
an impact on climate change and make an
impact on the energy crisis facing this
country and the world.
"It looks and smells like petrol but it is much
cleaner and we don't have any nasty bits."
The Richest Man That Ever Lived Was A Black Man (Mansa Musa)
King Mansa Musa's astounding wealth came
from his country Mali's production of more
than half the world's gold and salt,
Celebrity Net Worth said.
A photograph of Mansa Musa on a map of North
Africa circa 1375.
King Mansa Musa wasn't just the 1% of the 14th
century he may be the richest person of all time.
As the obscure ruler of West Africa's Mali Empire,
Musa amassed a jaw-dropping $400 billion during
his reign from 1312 to 1337, according to a new
inflation-adjusted list by celebritynetworth.com.

50s.
"His heirs were not able to fend off civil war and
invading conquerors. Just two generations later,
his world record net worth was gone," Celebrity
Net Worth said.
Of the list's top 25, 14 are Americans, including
Microsoft founder Bill Gates, whose inflation-
adjusted worth is about $136 billion.
The 25 billionaires and families listed have
made some megabucks, with a combined

Tonto Dikeh Disappoints with Debut Single
In the last 48 hrs, Tonto Dikeh’s latest
singles, Hi and Itz Ova, have become two of the
most listened and downloaded tracks, with over
500,000 views.
Dikeh, who joined the bandwagon of other actors
who succumbed to the moonlighting itch to
delve into singing, has been lampooned and
criticised for the lack lustre quality and
uninspiring singles which went viral shortly after
its release on Wednesday.
After announcing the planned release of singles
last week, the actress was advised by fans and
critics to forget music and concentrate on
acting.
Ironically, Hi and Itz Ova have caused a Twitter
disaster and left in its trail criticisms and knocks,
mostly from disappointed fans over the ‘auto-
tune’ assisted tracks.
As if coming from an ill-advised artiste, the song
which lacks cohesion from start, ends up losing
the listener at some point, as the singer also
sounds unsure of her lyrics. The over-use of lewd
lines is also a cause for concern, especially for
younger listeners.
Not surprising, the first set of jabs emanated
from Twitter and in an instant the sultry star
became a trending topic. Chocolate City artiste,
M.I sparked off a stream of tweets, when he
wrote, “That new Tonto song tho…”
Other comments came from followers like
@ifyliciouss who wrote, “Are u tired of living? Do
you want to die? Put on your earpiece and listen
to Tonto Dike’s new single.
@iAmBigMitch said, “Tonto Dikeh sang that song
for psychiatric patients” while @kayc sugarboy
wrote, “Tonto Dikeh’s new single is good but I
think she better as an actress. So, please pass the
Mic!!!”
For @walesleek, it was humour unlimited with
the tweet, “Tonto Dikeh just dropped her new
single, be very afraid! “
For a smart few, complimenting Dikeh was all it
took to get a follow back, mention or re-tweet by
the budding singer. This ploy did not however go
unnoticed by a smart follower who mentioned
that God was watching all those who
were hyping her to get noticed.
But just when one was about to conclude that
none of her colleagues was yet to speak in favour
of the tracks or otherwise, controversial
filmmaker, Charles Novia, who was lashed by e
Dikeh on Twitter ,after he criticised the soft porn
film she starred in two years ago, penned a
worded article on his Facebook page
titled, Tonto’s Tremolo.
It partly read, “I’m a music label owner
(November Records) and have produced and
acts like Majek Fashek, Terry tha Rapman, Zubby
Enebeli etc. I know much about music and the
slant of commercial music. But after listening to
Miss Dike’s songs, I’m inclined to align with the
majorly negative comments about them on
cyberspace. Ah-ah! Whoever produced her knew
she has a bad voice for singing and masked our
listening torture with the autotune effect. But
even the autotune rejected any attempt to make
a bad voice worse and Miss Dike came out
sounding like she was in mid-stream orgasm
instead of singing! Her anguished tremolos would
have been better reserved for a horror movie
sound effect than an attempt at joining the
revered profession of music. If Omotola got away
with her last two terrible attempts at singing, it
was because Omotola is a fantastic actress and
her fans could forgive her musical failings after
back-tracking her body of work in Nollywood.
With Tonto, I can’t say much either for her
acting depth. She’s a one-dimensional actress in
my opinion, who mistakes notoriety for fame.”
Although Dikeh is not the first Nollywood actor to
have delved into music, the many controversies
she has courted, coupled with how much she
boasted about the tracks before its release, made
her plight worse.
Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, for instance made
several attempts in music despite two albums;
the actress who claims that her music is not for
everyone is yet to make an impact.
After she was suspended by the Actors’ Guild in
2005, Genevieve Nnaji also took a shot at music
with the release of the song No More, after
clinching a mouth-watering recording deal in
Ghana.Yet this was not even enough to make her
a force to reckon with in the music industry.
Also, Anita Joseph, who recently announced that
she is born again, is yet to make any spectacular
statement as a singer despite several singles and
colourful videos.
Other Nollywood stars who have gone into music
include Nkem Owoh, Shan George, Zack Orji, Pat
Attah, Desmond Elliot and Kate Henshaw.
Meet World's Oldest Dad
Seriously? This 96 year old farmer from India
has just been named world's oldest dad.
Ramjit Raghav and his 52-year-old wife
Shakuntala Devi, welcomed a healthy baby
boy on Oct. 5, according to The Times of
India.
Raghav has now beaten his own record for
being the world's oldest new dad, which he
set two years ago when he and his wife
welcomed their first son together. The old
man says his sex drive is all natural and he
doesn't take any performance enhancers.
Back to my question; can a 96 year penis still
function at that age?
Capital Oil MD [Ifeanyi Uba] Spends Second Week in Detention
The billionaire businessman and MD of Capital
Oil and Gas Ltd is currently in a small cell at
the Special Fraud Unit in Ikoyi. He was
arrested on October 9th following accusations
of fraud totaling N43billion from the Aigboje
Aig-Imoukhuede led presidential committee
on verification and reconciliation of fuel
subsidy payments. The committee discovered
gross abuse by many marketers and reported
the case to the police. His company leads the
list of 25 companies indicted by the
committee which discovered about N62
billion of subsidy fraud.
So he's now facing criminal investigation and
prosecution for Capital Oil and Gas'
involvement in fuel subsidy fraud. He was in
court yesterday and the Special Fraud Unit of
the Nigerian Police told the court that the
money stolen by Mr Uba, could conveniently
pay the monthly allocation of 11 states of the
federation and asked the courts not to grant
him bail, which they didn't. The case was
adjourned to Monday October 22nd.
Meanwhile, his company has been blacklisted
by banks on the recommendation of the
Central Bank of Nigeria.
Tonto's Terrible Tremoloa by Charles Novia
Found the write up on the movie producer
and record label owner's Facebook page. See
it below...
Tonto's Terrible Tremolo by Charles
Novia.
I have restrained myself for a couple of
years from commenting on Tonto Dike's
career after my last comments about
her role in the soft porn movie she acted
in two years back, were badly taken by
her and she went on twitter to hurl
infantile insults on my person with
expletives and uncomplimentary
remarks. My reaction to such then was
just a dignified silence. After all, I had
already spoken on her stunted talent as
an up and coming actress and further
comments on her incensed tweets were
unnecessary.
Continue to see the rest...
All through the past few hours, the social
media networks have been abuzz with the
new singles of actress, Tonto Dike. She seems
to have joined the actors of her ilk who have
the moonlighting itch to delve into singing.
While no one can stop such an ambition by
those artistes, I do think those who surround
such artistes are their worst enemies if they
can't tell them the truth about leaving their
sometimes doubtful day job. Well, I will! I
listened to Miss Dike's two singles a few
minutes ago and my initial speechlessness
morphed to a nagging laughter and then
subsided into a befuddled anguish. I'm a
music label owner (November Records) and
have produced and Executive Produced acts
like Majek Fashek, Terry tha Rapman, Zubby
Enebeli etc. I know much about music and
the slant of commercial music. But after
listening to Miss Dike's songs, I'm inclined to
align with the majorly negative comments
about them on cyberspace. Ah-ah! Whoever

of work in Nollywood. With Tonto, I can't say
much either for her acting depth. She's a
one-dimensional actress in my opinion, who
mistakes notoriety for fame. She needs more
training in acting and this I say with all sense
of professionalism as a movie Director. She
might achieve greater heights in acting if she
trains more. But she has no heights to
achieve in singing. Only a downward plunge,
the stuff bad endings in movies are made of.

A protest by 10,000 Muslims outside the
offices of Google in London on Sunday is just
the first in an orchestrated attempt to force
the company to remove an anti-Islamic film
from website YouTube in Britain.
The scene outside the Google offices in
Buckingham Palace Road, London.
Thousands had travelled from as far afield as
Glasgow to take part in the demonstration,
ahead of a planned million-strong march in
Hyde Park in coming weeks.
Anger over ‘The Innocence of Muslims’, an
American-produced film which insults the
Prophet Mohammad and demeans Muslims,
according to protesters, remains available to
watch on the website YouTube, a subsidiary
of Google.
Organiser Masoud Alam said: “Our next
protest will be at the offices of Google and
YouTube across the world. We are looking to
ban this film.
“This is not freedom of expression, there is a
limit for that. This insult of the Prophet will
not be allowed.
The group’s next action was a march Mr
Alam hoped would be “a million strong”
would take place in Hyde Park “in the next
few weeks”, he said.
“Until it is banned we will keep protesting,”
he added.
Today’s demonstration was the third
organised in a month, and took place on the
central London street where the website
search giant has its UK headquarters. A
demonstration outside the American
Embassy in London last month drew little
attention as protests in Libya, Tunisia and
Yemen dominated headlines, including the
storming of embassy in Benghazi, Libya, that
led to the death of the US Ambassador to
Libya, Christopher Stevens.
Barricades were erected in front of Google’s
headquarters and a crowd bearing placards
with the words “We love our prophet more
than our lives” and “Prophet Muhammad is
the founder of freedom of speech” had
amassed by lunchtime.
Speeches by more than a dozen imams in a
mixture of Arabic, Urdu, and English urged
Muslims to honour the name of the Prophet
and not to back down in the face of Google’s
continuing reluctance to act, and were met
with passionate cries of “God is Great” and
“Mohammad is the Prophet of God” in
Arabic.
One of the speakers, Sheikh Faiz Al-Aqtab
Siddiqui, told The Daily Telegraph: “Terrorism
is not just people who kill human bodies, but
who kill human feelings as well. The makers of
this film have terrorised 1.6 billion people.
“Organisations like Google are key players and
have to take responsibility for civility. You can’t
just say it doesn’t matter that it’s freedom of
speech. It’s anarchy.”
Sheikh Siddiqui, a barrister from Nuneaton, said
he wanted to form a coalition with the Church of
England, Catholics, Jewish groups, Trade Unions
and even Conservatives to encourage their ranks
to join his “campaign for civility”.
“We want everyone in society to recognise these
people are wrecking our fragile global society. We
want the Church, the Synod, Jewish groups and
establishment figures involved,” he said.
As many as 800 imams in mosques across Britain
helped to organise today’s protest, which lasted
four hours and blocked roads almost up to the
Queen’s doorstep on Buckingham Palace Road.
Muslims from Blackburn, Birmingham, Glasgow,
Luton, Manchester and Peterborough were in
attendance. When asked where where the
women attending the protest were, one protester
replied: “Right at the back”.
Self-employed businessman Ahmed Nasar said he
was worried the video could lead to violence in
Britain in the same way as it had abroad. “If you
push people too far,” he said, “You will turn the
peaceful elements into violence.”
A YouTube spokesperson said: “We work hard to
create a community everyone can enjoy and
which also enables people to express different
opinions.
“This can be a challenge because what’s OK in
one country can be offensive elsewhere. This
video – which is widely available on the Web – is
clearly within our guidelines and so will stay on
YouTube.”

Police Declares Coxson Lelebori Lucky Wanted For Aluu killings
Coxson Lelebori Lucky, aka Bright, has been
declared wanted by the Nigerian Police for
the brutal murder of Ugunna Obuzor, 18,
200 Level Geology; Lloyd Toku, 19, 200 Level
Civil Engineering; Tekena Elkanah, 20, a
Diploma Technical student and Chiadaka
Odinga, 20, 200 Level Theatre Arts.
Coxson was owing one of the Aluu 4 money
and instead of paying up when they came to
collect, he raised a false alarm calling them
thieves. That alarm led to their horrific
murder.
Meanwhile 21 people have so far been
arrested and the IG of police has ordered an
inquest into the alleged involvement of police
men and have promised to bring to book any
officer found involved in the killing.
Even the most sadistic fiction writer would
not have thought of an ending like this. Still
can't believe this happened.
Nigerian Ambassador to Ukraine Warns Nigerians Against Studying in Ukranian Universities
Studying
in
Ukraine,
has
in
recent
times,
been
a
topic
of
debate
considering
the
alleged
racial
discrimination being experienced by Nigerian
students and the problem of communicating in
English Language. As English is not the official
language spoken in Ukraine, Nigerian students
often have difficulties in communicating when
they travel there for their studies.
To buttress this, the Nigerian Ambassador to
Ukraine, Frank Ngozi Isoh, has advised Nigerian
parents to be wary of sending their children to
English Language training institutions as
Ukrainians are not proficient in the language.
In September, the National Universities
Commission (NUC) had said some states sponsor
students to sub-standard universities abroad and
Ukraine was one of the countries mentioned.
The Executive Secretary of NUC Professor Julius
Okojie also made reference to a university in
Ukraine where there are over 800 medical
students and some of the students do not have
the qualification in basic sciences.
In a recent report by Daily Trust, the Ambassador
made some startling revelations that raises some
doubts about the idea of studying in Ukraine.
The Ambassador said that Nigerians won’t get the
best when it comes to studying in Ukraine with
the English Language. “One thing I will like to say
about education in this place, and this is
something we intend to package in a report to
government to see how this can be propagated
back home – I do not think that Nigerians get the
best when it comes to studying in this place in
the English language.”
While noting that the lure for most parents is the
low cost of tuition which is about $3,000 for a
course that could cost up to $20,000 in the
United States or Canada, the Ambassador further
said that the people who teach them in English
language are natives of Ukraine who are also not
very proficient in the language.
He advised students who want to study in
Ukraine to first learn the local language in order
to get the best out of the education system.
While speaking on Universities in Ukraine offering
medical courses, he said he doesn’t think
Nigerian medical students trained in English get
the best. “We don’t think that Nigerian medical
doctors trained in English speaking universities
here get the best. But those who endeavour to
learn the language and then attend lectures with
the natives certainly get better trained.”
It was only weeks ago that news of a Nigerian
student studying in Ukraine who faced life
imprisonment for allegedly defending himself
against six teenagers surfaced in the media. What was noteworthy about his
case is that he was remanded in detention for
several days by the Ukrainian police who refused
to take the case to court citing unavailability of
the police to get an interpreter for him.
If you were planning on studying in Ukraine, it
might be wise to listen to the advice of the
Ambassador.

The Growth of Strip Clubs in Lagos.
A strip or nude club is an adult
entertainment venue or a night club
where stripteases or other erotic or
exotic dances are regularly performed.
A strip club is run like a night club or
bar, but it can also adopt a theatre or
cabaret form.
A strip or nude club is an adult
entertainment venue or a night club where
stripteases or other erotic or exotic dances
are regularly performed. A strip club is run
like a night club or bar, but it can also adopt
a theatre or cabaret form.
This kind of club, no doubt is gradually
making its way into many towns and cities in
Nigeria and with increasing patronage by
different sets of people.
Efforts by various governments, especially
the Lagos State government to rid towns
and cities of these strip clubs have met a
brick wall as the operators of such
businesses are back with little or no
moderation to the usual practice.
The government, while attempting to bring a
little sanity to the city’s night life once raided
the strip clubs in the Ikeja axis of Lagos
State and arrested the strippers. But the
operators reacted by charging the
government to court.
This incident generated a lot of issues and
divided the public who held different
opinions on the business.
Investigations carried out recently revealed
that the operators of strip clubs are back in
business and are carrying out activities there
in a manner which obviously gives them an
edge over ordinary night clubs in terms of
patronage.
Scattered all over Lagos mainland are strip/
nude clubs like Cazz bar, Club Unique, Wall
Street bar, Cave Exclusive and Ocean Blue.
A visit to the Cazz bar on Opebi road, Ikeja
on a Friday night was an experience always
fresh in the mind of these reporters.
After paying an entrance fee of N3,000.00
one is entitled to enjoy the ambience where
most of the strippers are beautiful white girls
‘imported’ into the country to entertain and
meet the audience’s different needs.
The girls who have their bodies scantily covered
with g-string pants and bras took a pole-dancing
position and when charged, they discarded of the
scanty clothings on them and danced naked
performing also the lap-dance for any patron who
was willing to give them a tip.
Further investigations revealed that there is a VIP
section where you pay an entrance fee of
N10,000.00 which entitles you to have anything
on demand free.
The Cazz bar regulation states that a patron who
is willing to go home with one of its strippers will
wait till 5:000 a.m (which is the closing time) and
pay the management while leaving his phone
number and address for security reasons.
At the Cazz Bar it is stated that each of the
strippers collects N75,000.00 per week excluding
accommodation and feeding.
The practice at the Cave Exclusive in GRA, Ikeja is
a little different compared to that of Cazz Bar.
At the Cave Exclusive, the entrance fee is
N5,000.00. What makes the operations of Cave
Exclusive different from others is that not only
that the strippers are scantily clad, the bar
attendants who are mostly ladies move around
and attend to patrons in their underwears.
altThe environment speaks s..ex and you won’t
fail to catch a glimpse of couples engaged in one
sexual act or the other and with no damn given
to prying eyes.
One of the attendants who spoke to the reporters
claimed she wasn’t initially aware that the rule is
that attendants also will work in their underwears.
she said she discovered this on her first day at
work and that she was planning to quit anytime
from now as she wasn’t comfortable with the
practice.
On further questioning, she claimed her take-
home pay in a month is N25,000.00 and she feels
she shouldn’t be subjected to such a treatment
for that amount as customers are free to touch
and make passes at her, while the management
expects her to smile back at them.
The Cave Exclusive which has been running for
over three years records a huge patronage on
Fridays as fun-seekers throng the hangout to
enjoy what they offer.
The operation in other strip bars is not different
and it attracts patrons who are willing to part
with any amount of money as long as they are
satisfied.
Strip and nude bar operation is said to have
started in Lagos in the 90’s. Then, some
hangouts in Apapa used to bring in ladies who
were used in meeting the sexual needs of
European sailors who often visited the hangout
while on trips to Lagos.
The operation gradually gained ground and has
now become fully rooted with quite a large
number of nightclubs in existence.
A trip round the city of Lagos revealed that
virtually every nook and cranny of this city has
this strip and nude club due to the commercial
gains derived from them.
Teenagers and young ladies see the club as an
avenue to make money not considering the
consequences of their action.
It was also gathered that top businessmen and
politicians catch fun, but they choose to do that
in hangouts that operate strictly by membership.
A strip bar owner in Lagos is said to rake in
between N5m and N10m every month depending
on the location and patronage.
A usual strip club is open everyday for business,
but has Wednesdays and Fridays as its special
days.
Many had thought that the Lagos state
government would win the battle to curb, if not
stop this business, while some opine that it’s a
business that has come to stay whether the
government likes it or not.

Why They Broke Up (D'Banj And Don Jazzy); Plus Dr SID's Ambition
Greed, personal ambition, quest to be popular
ahead of others are some of the factors that led
to the "untimely" collapse of the Mo'Hits Records
group, an audio conversation has revealed.
Just when we were thinking the D’banj versus
Don Jazzy saga was ending, yet another
controversy has come up; this time former
Mo’Hits-now-MAVIN act, Dr SID, plays the leading
role in the ‘never-ending’ controversy.
Further findings have revealed that Mo'Hits
collapsed because the small boys in the house,
Dr Sid in particular, wanted to grow faster than
his shadow and might have indirectly pushed
Don Jazzy into taking some wrong decisions.
A secret recording which has leaked is now
giving a little more insight as to why the former
‘super group’ broke up with bosses – D’banj and
Don Jazzy parting ways.
Dr SID in the recording, was heard talking in a
rather upset tone about how D’banj’s personality
was over-shining his and the rest of the crew
members.
"Why don’t they know my name? Because your
brand and star is too much. It is overshadowing",
Dr SID angrily said in the recording.
Young singer, Davido, who was part of the
discussion, however had another opinion; he
argued back and forth with Dr SID, explaining
that it was D’banj that actually brought Dr SID
and others to the limelight.
"Guuuy, it’s not that, D’banj can help anybody,
….If not for D’banj nobody would have looked at
Wande, guy I dey lie?" Davido stressed.
However,it is a well known fact that Dr
SID and D’banj have been having inside brawls
even though he (D’banj) was the one that
brought Dr SID into Mo’Hits.
Several sources insist Dr SID was one of the
persons who engineered the Mo’Hits split and he
wanted to always be as big as D’banj. Wande
was content as the fan favourite, D’Prince is okay
as long as his elder brother makes the money
Gunmen kill Worshipers at Nigeria Mosque
Gunmen have opened fire on Muslim worshipers
as they were leaving a mosque in northern
Nigeria, killing at least 20 people, a local official
said.
The attack on Sunday happened in a remote
village called Dogo Dawa, in Kaduna state, said
Abdullahi Muhammad, the traditional ruler and
councillor of Birnin Gwari, a local government area
next to the village.
The state police commissioner Olufemi Adenaike
confirmed the incident, but did not give a death
toll. There was no immediate claim of
responsibility for the attack.
Like much of northern Nigeria, Kaduna is plagued
by an insurgency led by radical Islamist sect Boko
Haram. They usually attack security forces,
government officials or Christians, but have hit
Muslim clerics and mosques in the past, especially
ones that do not follow their brand of Islam.
Kaduna also lies close to Nigeria's volatile "Middle
Belt", where Nigeria's mostly Muslim north and
largely Christian south
meet, and where tensions over land and ethnicity
often erupt into violence.
But Abdulladhi said the attack was most likely
carried out by a local criminal gang.
"We are suspecting a reprisal attack by gangs of
armed robbers who lost some of their members
after a recent exchange
of fire with the villagers and the vigilantes," he
said.
"The village had been terrorised by an armed
group operating from camps in the forest. These
armed men mostly attack villages and motorists
along the busy Kaduna to Lagos highway."
The Islamist insurgency in northern Nigeria and
weapons flooding in from its neighbours on the
threshold of the Sahara
have aggravated levels of violence in the region.
Armed robberies and local disputes degenerating
into deadly shootouts are increasingly common
across the impoverished north.
Soldier Killed Student For Trying To Be A Gentleman
Emmanuel Papa Ebonyi dreamt of a great
future. A future where he would pass his
examinations in flying colours, have a great
job and support his siblings who had always
been there for him. Unfortunately, all these
dreams were terminated when a soldier
snuffed life out of him just because he tried
to be a Good Samaritan.
His sister Felicia Samuel Ebonyi tells the story in
tears. "The unfortunate incident happened in the
early hours of 9th August. On that day, my
brother, a Higher National Diploma I (HND I)
student of Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria,
Kaduna State met his untimely death in the
hands of one Captain Olufela Doyin Erizia."
"My brother was in the company of his friends
and they visited Mate Bar Night Club, PZ
Sabongari area of Zaria on the night of the
previous day to celebrate the birthday of a friend.
That was where he met Captain Olufela D. Erizia
and his friends."
Everything went well for a while. But suddenly,
there was a quarrel between Erizia and his
girlfriend. Ebonyi intervened warning Erizia
against fighting with his girlfriend. That
unfortunately turned out to be a grievous offence
in Erizia's dictionary. Infuriated, he took the laws
into his hands beating Ebonyi black and blue.
"He beat up my brother until he was half dead.
Along the line his friends rescued him from the
soldier and were trying to leave the premises, but
he (Erizia) still chased them and was struggling
with the driver of the vehicle. If Ebonyi had
known the calamity that would befall him, he
would not stop Erizia from fighting his girlfriend,
but his sympathy for the womenfolk landed him
in an unexpected grave."
Sadly, Felicia continues her story: "When the
incident happened, one of my brother's friends
called me on phone and asked me to come over.
They took us to the barracks and I met another
eye witness. It was not the soldier's girlfriend, it
was another girl. The girlfriend actually ran away
and I have been trying to get her to come and tell
her side of the story."
"Our parents are both late. I have four other
siblings and they are all very sad about the
development. He is the second to the last born in
the family. We used to have an elder sister who
died in 2007. She was ill and initially the ailment
was diagnosed as typhoid. It was later discovered
that it was hepatitis and her death was quite
painful."
Erizia was apprehended, taken for questioning
and interrogations after which he was taken to
the Area Command Police Station, Zaria.
"However, nothing has been heard ever since,"
Felicia says. "We have been kept in the dark on
this issue because not only did they refuse to
hand over the man to the police authorities but
also did not have courtesy to say a word. Sources
at the barracks were even saying that he had
been posted to another duty beat. It is on this
basis that we are calling on the Military HQ, well-
meaning Nigerians, human rights activists to see
to this matter and make sure that Erizia is
brought to book."
According to Sadau Garba of the Kaduna Human
Rights Association: "The offence of the late Ebonyi
was that he pleaded with Capt Erizia not to
manhandle a lady he jerked up and molested.
After mercilessly beating Ebonyi, a friend, one
Femi David, rushed him to Salama Hospital,
Sabongari, Zaria and they directed that he should
be taken to Shika Teaching Hospital due to the
critical condition. It was on the way to Shika that
Emmanuel gave up the ghost."
Sadau Garba added that "the family members of
the late Ebonyi have made several visits to the
Kaduna State Police Command headquarters, but
the authorities of the Army Barracks, Zaria, are
not willing to release the said Captain Erizia to the
police to investigate this inhuman, barbaric and
dastardly act."
DSP Aminu Lawal, the Police Public Relations
Officer in Kaduna confirmed the case saying
investigation was in progress. He also said, "The
authorities of the Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria
could not ascertain if Ebonyi was a student of the
institution."

Nigerian Mr. Incredible (M.I) Saves Accident Victims
During the early hours of Saturday, October
13, 2012, Chocolate City rapper, M.I came
across a gruesome accident along Ikorodu
road, Lagos, involving four people, and
called for help via social media.
The rapper tweeted, 'I'm presently at the scene of
a serious accident…We have been here for almost
an hour.. And no rescue service!!! Any one that
can help. Opposite Obanikoro estate on Ikorodu
road. One passenger looks like they are still alive
and can make it.. But we need towing trucks and
jaws of life to save him… Pls help. At least 3 girls
dead, the driver still alive'.
The rapper, who was still there when the
emergency services arrived, saw them pull out
one of the passengers "One girl has been
removed from the car and is dead… Pretty young
girl.. My God…"
By the time we got to the site of the incident, the
rapper and his team had left, and the victims had
been taken away but a few people were gathered
near the scene, watching officials of the Lagos
State Transport Monitoring Agency (LASTMA)
clear the debris and tow the damaged car, a
white Toyota Camry with plate number,
TF787KJA, away from the road.
Although no one could say for sure what the
cause of the accident of the accident was, a few
of the onlookers who spoke to us on the grounds
of anonymity, assumed it was a case of either
over speeding, drink-driving or both, as they
suspect the victims could have been coming from
a club.
One onlooker, a man in his late forties said 'I'm
sad and speechless, look at the damage. The way
these youths ride cars these days, one just has to
be prayerful. They speed so much…I pity these
ones o, it's such a loss'. As the conversations and
speculation continued on the sidelines, the
LASTMA officials busied themselves with removing
the street light which fell on the car and hindered
the flow of traffic.
Meanwhile, one of the officials confirmed to us
that the accident was indeed ghastly, with only
two survivors out of the four passengers. He
added that they were all taken to the Lagos State
Accident and Emergency Centre. A doctor in the
hospital, speaking anonymously, claimed that
only one victim was admitted and has been
responding to treatment.
M.I and his team were returning from Club
Octopus, the venue of the Hennessy Artistry
event, where he performed alongside Naeto C.
Reports from his team reveal that although the
artiste found the sight shocking, he is presently
at home, and in good condition.
However, he had a few words for drivers, which
he shared on twitter: 'Pls, people drive safely
home, buckle up for safety and do not drink and
drive. Also don't let your drunk friends drive.'
