want those bragging rights! The next time
Wiz has a stomachache or anything, I’ll say, ‘I
popped out a baby all-natural.’”
What attracted Amber to her man?
"[H]e’s just a genuine sweet guy," she says.
"And I just said, “You know what, I don’t care

Ahmed Grema Mohammed, Top Immigration Officer Working For Boko Haram Arrested
The resolve of Nigeria's security agencies to flush
out the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram from
parts of the North, yielded more fruits
culminating in the arrest of agents of the terrorist
group in some paramilitary agencies
Among those arrested in the latest onslaught
was Ahmed Grema Mohammed, a top
immigration officer whose confessions led to the
arrest of others who have been carrying attacks
on government officials across some States of the
North.
According to the Spokesman of the JTF, Lt.
Colonel Sagir Musa, those already apprehended
are some security personnel who have been
carrying out attacks in Borno and Yobe which he
said was a major breakthrough in their efforts at
flushing out insiders in the security forces
collaborating with the deadly groups.
A Statement by Musa said that those arrested
have confessed to being active members of the
Boko Haram sect who joined the sect well before
the 2009 crisis and received a lot of training in
and outside the country.
He said that Grema also confessed to have been
trained alongside 15 other members of the sect
on weapon handling, assassinations and special
operations in Niger Republic.
Musa said Grema was arrested at a checkpoint
on his way to Maiduguri while impersonating as a
Nigeria Army lieutenant.
He further said during the trip Grema had
planned killing a former special adviser to the
immediate governor of Borno state. He also
disclosed that Grema had equally confessed to
the killings of some senior civil servants, security
agencies and politicians in Yobe and Borno States
who spoke against the activities of the sect,
including the slain former chairman of Damboa
LGA, Alhaji Lawal Kawu.
Grema was also among those that led attacks on
Yobe Police Command, Damaturu Prison, some
primary schools, among others.
Too Much Money: Living in Lagos, Shopping in London.
The London Evening Standard‘s feature on Simi
Osomo, a 25 year-old Nigerian who makes six
trips to London spending a total of £30,000
(N7,622,220) got my attention this morning.
According to the report, she spends about two
weeks during each trip and goes shopping
everyday of her trip.
Speaking about Nigerians and their shopping
habits, she told the Standard “When it comes to
shopping and Nigerians, I can tell you it’s just
what we have to do.”
During every trip, she spends about £5,000
(N1,270,370). She tells the Standard that aside
from the fact that goods are cheaper in London, it
gives her a chance to have a holiday. “You can
get lots of things in Lagos but they are cheaper
here and you get to take a holiday and relax a bit.
It’s only six hours away.”
Although she likes the variety of London, Marks &
Spencer is one of Osomo’s favourite shops. “I love
their fajitas. You can’t get them in Nigeria. I also
buy soy sauce and Thai green curry paste, which
is good because it lasts for a long time. Oh, and
Crunchy Nut cereal, Skittles, Maltesers and tea.
There’s nothing like a British cuppa. I get Lipton,
PG and green tea. I love Zara, H&M, Topshop. But
if I want something more high end, there’s Sloane
Street.”
When it comes to getting her haul of hopping
back to Lagos, she says it is costly. “All I pack
when I come over is one pair of jeans and three
tops. I bring two big suitcases but I always have
to get another one and pay for excess baggage. I
never learn.” British Airways has increased its
excess baggage charge on flights from London to
Lagos from £40 to £97 per suitcase in the past
year. “They must have realised we always put an
extra bag in and thought they’d try to make
money out of it,” she told the Standard.
During her chat with Standard, she wore a green
top from Zara, blue skinny jeans and new
Christian Louboutin shoes. She also planned to
buy an iPhone 5 later in the day for her sister.
She said Zara which opened an outlet store in
Lagos six months ago is affordable.
”Zara is affordable because it’s an outlet but
what I find is that things are a bit last season.
Nigeria’s hot all the time so there are always maxi
dresses and swimwear but the colours are boring
and we lack variety. Customer service is not great
and some shops can get really crowded, which is
challenging.”
According to Osomo, it is not just rich Nigerians
who come over to shop in the UK. “Middle-class
people can afford to come and spend £600 on
shopping in a week here. What I like about the UK
is that it doesn’t discriminate. As long as you’re
able to prove you have an income,
accommodation in London and a return ticket,
the authorities are more than willing to give you a
visa. It’s closer than America and the customer
service here is phenomenal.”
She loves to shop in summer which is the height
of the shopping season, and also comes back for
the January sales too. Her mother, a lawyer, and
father, a businessman, often join her. She has just
finished a law degree and is about to start a job in
fashion journalism, which she hopes will give her
enough holidays for trips to London.
Nigerian-Born Christmas Day bomber’s Underwear Failed to Detonate “Because he had worn them for THREE WEEKS!”- FBI
On December 25th, 2009, Umar Farouk
Abdulmutallab, a Nigerian tried to detonate an
explosive aboard a Northwest Flight 253 over
Detroit in the United States of America. As the
son of one of Nigeria’s most prominent
businessmen and someone who had access to
international travel and a world-class
education, his terrorist act took Nigeria by
surprise.
Umar has since been sentenced to life
imprisonment without parole. However, the FBI
has recently revealed the reason why
the explosives failed to go off.
During his trial he said the bomb in his underwear
was a ‘blessed weapon’ to avenge poorly treated
Muslims around the world.
Two FBI agents told WXYZ TV that Umar
confessed to the plot, saying that he had worn
the explosive underwear for three weeks in order
to get used to it and make sure he could get it
through security.
“So basically for three weeks he wore this
garment, these underwear with this device in
it. We think ultimately that is probably what
caused the disruption in the sequence of events
in the explosion,” said FBI agent Ted Peissig.
The agents also revealed that Umar was not
recruited by al Qaeda, but the other way around.
“He sought out al Qaeda relentlessly,” another FBI
agent on the case, Mike Connelly said. “He
persisted and he was almost turned away at
times, you know, by al Qaeda. But he refused to
relent.”
FBI agents also say the Underwear Bomber might
have inadvertently foiled his own plot because of
his obsession about making sure the bomb would
not be detected. They further revealed that he
had been instructed to detonate the bomb over a
populated area to maximize the death toll.
Here is the account of the FBI agents as reported
by WXYZ TV
In Abdulmutallab’s mind it was an act of
martyrdom and jihad. He had no feelings for the
men, women and children around him who were
about die, according to the FBI agents.
“He did not bat an eye in saying if that plane was
going to go down, it was going to go down. That
was God’s call. That wasn’t his call. His
responsibility was just to detonate the bomb, and
whatever happened, happened,” says agent
Connelly.
As the huge jumbo jet carrying over 300 people
was approaching Detroit, Abulmutallab
disappeared into the restroom to wash himself, a
ritual for his passage into the next life. When he
returned to his seat he told the guy sitting next
to him that he wasn’t feeling well.
“And pulled a blanket almost completely
concealing himself up to the chin,” says Agent
Peissig.
Using a plastic syringe, Abdulmutallab injected a
mixture of liquids and solids into the explosive
chemicals already packed into his underwear.
But Instead of exploding, the bomb burst into
flames, setting his clothes and the blanket on fire,
seriously burning him.
The two agents who visited Nigeria during the
course of his investigation said they extracted
detailed and chilling information about
Abdulmutallab and his mission, getting a rare
glimpse into the mind of a suicide bomber.
“In his tone, his conversation, he’s very
reserved,” adds agent Connelly. “He’s deliberate
in his speech.”
“The witnesses remarked about how he just
looked like a simple young school boy,” says
Peissig.
But appearances don’t match reality in the case
of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. Agents say he
was an extreme fanatic and a very dangerous
man.
He was hell-bent on taking down a jumbo jet over
Detroit with no consideration for the hundreds
who would die in the plane and on the ground.
“He is completely different from any terrorist that
I’ve had the ability to talk to,” explains Connelly.
“Different because of his absolute devotion to
Jihad. The degree of conviction that he had to the
cause is unparalleled.”
We are glad his attempt to kill innocent people
was foiled.

Nigerian Couple in the UK Jailed for Trying to Claim £3.8m in Benefits Scam using 1,400 Identities
Exactly a week ago after the news of
Nigerian couple arrested in the UK
for falsely claiming about £43,000 in benefits was brought to our readers. The
story elicited much fury from readers who were
disappointed at the bad image they portrayed
about Nigerians abroad.
It is therefore saddening to read news of yet
another Nigerian couple arrested in the UK for
securing £87,000 from fraudulent claims totalling
£3.8million over four years.
Adeola Thomas, 38, and his partner, Abimbola
Abiola, 34, managed to pocket £87,000 after
using 1,400 stolen identities to complete 2,495
handwritten tax and benefits claims forms.
And just like the other couple that was reported
to have lavishly spent the money on a house in
Nigeria, the pair spent the money on designer
clothing and electrical items including a 50-inch
plasma television.
The fraud was discovered when benefits staff
at HM Revenue & Customs noticed they had
received multiple tax credit claims from the same
addresses. Subsequently, an investigation was
launched.
Thomas’ hand-written application forms were
analysed, computer records were checked, and
hours of recorded calls to the Tax Credit Helpline
were listened to and a surveillance operation was
carried out. The HRMC investigators viewed CCTV
footage showing activity outside various North
London Post Office ATMs.
Thomas was eventually arrested at a cash point
outside a Post Office in Hackney on October 7th
last year. He was found to be in possession of 17
Post Office account cards in different names, two
mobile phones and two fraudulently completed
forms addressed to Jobcentre Plus.
When Abiola was arrested later the same day, she
had £4,125 in her handbag. The mother-of-one
claimed the money was her child benefit
payment.
Daily Mail reports that the pair, who carried out
the scam between January 3, 2007 and October
7, 2011, tried to claim £827,000 from HMRC,
securing £43,000. They also claimed £3 million
from the Department of Work and Pensions and
received £44,000.
With Abiola’s help, Thomas used stolen personal
details to complete 2,495 handwritten application
forms, which were sent to the appropriate
departments for processing.
Thomas, who also happens to be an illegal
immigrant pleaded guilty to three counts of
conspiracy to defraud and money laundering
offences. Abiola, a Nigerian national with leave to
remain in the UK was also found guilty of four
counts of conspiracy to defraud, money
laundering and possession of criminal property.
They were both sentenced to jail this week.
Thomas was sentenced to seven years in jail while
Abiola received two-and-a-half years sentence.
The Judge who read his sentence indicated
Thomas should be deported after serving his time
in the UK.

Name The Pastors Who Asked You For Sex: PFN Tells Tope Alabi
This is funny, but that is what PFN, the
Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, wants the
gospel singer Tope Alabi to clarify.
Tope recently granted an interview where she
said, some notable Pastors have asked her for sex
in the past. PFN is not pleased with this. They
want her to mention names in other for them to
be able to differentiate the bad eggs from the
good ones.
In a statement, the official wrote, "it is not
impossible that a pastor pestered her for sex as
she claimed, but she needs to come out and
name such an individual in order to teach others
a lesson and cleanse the body of bad eggs.
Making such unsubstantiated claims on the pages
of newspapers will not make any impact but
rather bring shame to the body of Christ. She
knows the proper channel to follow to report
something like that."
They stated.
Undergraduate On Trial For Homosexual
Ortyom Dyorugh, a 20-year-old Accounting
student of Benue State University, Makurdi,
was on Friday remanded in prison for
allegedly indulging in homosexuality with a
seven-year old boy (name withheld).
The 300 level student, who was arraigned before
a Chief Magistrate Court in Makurdi for alleged
gross indecency, was said to have forced the
minor to commit the act with him at the Judges
Quarters area of Makurdi where they both lived.
According to the First Information Report (FIR)
filed by Police Prosecutor, Sergeant Patrick
Sunday, the accused took boy to an uncompleted
building within the vicinity of Judges Quarters
where he forced him to suck his penis
threatening to kill him if he refused to do it.
The Prosecutor further told the court that the
alleged sucking of Dyorugh's genital resulted in
the release of sperm into the boy's mouth on
three different occasions after which he reiterated
his threat to kill him if he revealed the unholy act
to anyone.
The young boy however, was said to have started
exhibiting strange behaviour after the act which
stirred his parents' attention and inquisition.
After much questioning, he opened up to his
parents and told them his ordeal.
The boy's father, a reverend reported the matter
to the Criminal Investigation Bureau, CIB of the
Benue State Police Command and Dyorugh was
subsequently arrested.
When the case came up under Section 285 of the
Penal Code, Dyorugh denied the allegation.
Trial Chief Magistrate Lilian Tsumba directed that
the accused be thrown behind bars at the
Makurdi Medium Security Prison.
50 Cent Tweets Tips To Stop Masturbating
Rapper 50 Cent is known for being an
outspoken individual. Since joining Twitter,
50 has gotten into trouble tweeting stock tips
and rude jokes about tsunamis and
homosexuals. It looks as though Fif has
turned over a new leaf. 50 Cent has been
tweeting about abstaining from sex and
masturbation. Apparently, sex and
masturbation are sins and 50 is just trying to
school the people, but we are choosing to
stay asleep.
Another Plane Crash? Qatar Airline Makes Emergency Landing in Lagos
Qatar Airline flight 592 from Doha to Lagos
made an emergency landing a few minutes
ago at the Murtala Muhammed International
airport, Lagos. The pilots discovered midair
that one tyre had low pressure, making
landing difficult. They radioed our airport for
emergency precaution and a vehicle to tow
the plane from the runway to the gate.
The best part was, more than 95% of the
passengers didn't even know anything was
wrong until the plane landed and they saw
fire service and National Emergency
Management Agency all around. One of the
passengers tweeted that it was a smooth
landing so was surprised that they even had
issues.
The plane has been slowly towed to it's
landing spot at the airport. We thank God
Aero-Molue: 16 People Standing on Board as Arik Air overbooks flight
This is going on right now at Murtala
Muhammed Airport, Lagos. I'm getting info
from passengers on the plane. Apparently
Arik Air overbooked their Lagos-Benin flight
by 16 people..and all sixteen passengers
have refused to come down. Passengers have
been at the airport since 6:30. Flight was
initially supposed to take off at 7:30, then
delayed to 11am. It was eventually boarded
at almost 12 with 16 people more than
available seats. The Arik Air involved is the
one you see in this photo - the John Paul 2.
No passenger is leaving and the plane is
refusing to fly.
Naija for show! So Arik doesn't know when to stop
selling tickets? Or they were hoping some
passengers will not show up?
Guys, what do you think?

That Koko Master loves to spring up surprises is
well known to his followers and fans, in fact, his
has become a master of that game.
Our own very Mr. Endowed is seriously coming up
with something hot with his musical video
director, Sesan Ogunro. The two personalities
were sighted in Atlanta recently at the location of
the video shoot, ‘Bachelor’ D’banj’s latest work.
Let’s watch out for this video as it tells a story of
his bachelorhood. The shooting started with a
story of D’banj’s ‘girlfriend’ storming out of his
house for no particular reason but instead of him
feeling downcast, he calls a truck load of girls to
come party with him…sounds interesting!
Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

Police Invade Uzere Community For Holding Delta State Deputy Governor And Entourage Hostage- Sahara Reporters
The truckloads of the stern looking anti- riot
mobile policemen have just arrived Uzere
kingdom arresting youths indiscriminately.
Residents say that if care is not taken there
could be a major break down of law and order
in the area.
The arrests is related to yesterday's protest
action against Delta state deputy governor,
Professor Amos Utuama at Uzere kingdom.
Mr. Utuama was held hostage by youths in
the area when he visited the area to assess
areas submerged by flood water.
However, hs visit ignited a major row
regarding the involvement of the Delta State
government in the pending ten months old
kingship crisis rocking Uzere kingdom in Isoko
South local government area of Delta state.
Sources on the deputy Governor’s entourage

shortly Mr. Utuama entered the town and
drove straight to the palace of the deposed
king to pay a courtesy call, an move that
infuriated the indigenes who immediately

I had amazing sex with lover in the rain but he has a wife
I'm so in love I had sex in the rain and it felt
like the world was on fire but I’m crushed
when my lover has to go back to his wife.
I’m 17 and I’m doing travel and tourism at
college. I love my course and I’ve made some
good friends but I met this guy at a party two
months ago. I knew him by sight as he’s kind
of a family friend. He’s 31, married and drinks
with my brother sometimes.
Our eyes met as he walked in the room. He
came over and flirted like mad. I could tell he
didn’t recognise me. He’d had a few drinks
and said I was sexy and gorgeous. “Shame
you’re married!” I said.
I told him my name and he looked pretty
awkward at first. Then he smiled and said,
“Can you keep secrets?” He said things were
‘tricky’ at home and he wanted to see me
again.
We swapped numbers and started this crazy
affair. At first it was just sexy phone calls and
texts but then it began to get real. He sends
me a text when he’s free and parks down the
road from my house. We go for a drive and
find somewhere quiet to have sex.
If it’s wet we have sex in his car but last time
it started off sunny so we were lying on some
grass, then it started to rain really hard. It felt
so amazing I just laughed when we got to the
end and I found myself drenched to the skin.
He’s the best thing that’s happened to me
and he says that he’ll work something out –
but I’m scared that I’m going to get hurt
My Wife Always Smells Of Other Men’s Semen - Husband Tells Court
A 39-year-old estate agent, Mr. Ibukun
Oluwadamilare, caused much laughter
when he told a Lagos Grade A Customary
Court, sitting in Agege, that he used to
wash his wife’s pants, which smell of other
men’s semen.
He said: “Whenever she comes back at night
from an outing, I always perceive sperm odour
and she always returns home with pink lips,
which indicated that a man have rough handle
her and also kissed her lips.”
Ibukun informed the court that he got
married Mrs Adesuwa Oluwadamilare in the
year 2000 and the union is blessed with
three children and that Adesuwa had two
children from her previous marriage. He
claimed that his wife packed out of his
house four years ago after she gave birth
to their last born, adding that Adesuwa
suddenly became uncontrollable.
He alleged that Adesuwa went to lodge in a
hotel located somewhere in lju-lshaga.
Ibukun also informed the court that his
wife would have killed him with some fetish
substances she robbed on her face, body
and private part.
However, lbukun pleaded that the court should
not dissolve the marriage, because he still loves
her. Earlier, 33-year-old Mrs Oluwadamilare
informed the court that she mistakenly got
pregnant for lbukun in 2000, and he refused to
pay her bride price even after three children.
Adesuwa said what really informed her decision
to approach the court was to make her husband
come to her village in Edo State and marry her
according to the custom and tradition of their
land. She claimed that lbukun always accused
her of dating young men and capitalised on the
situation to abuse her.
She said: “There was a day he beat me at a
bus top and tore my clothes to shreds. I left
there stark naked.”
She said her husband always monitors her
movement and does not give her peace of
mind. Meanwhile, the court President, Mr.
Emmanuel Shokunle adjourned the case till
October 22 for further hearing.
Arnold Schwarzenegger: Affair With Housekeeper Was 'Stupidest Thing I've Done'
Arnold Schwarzenegger is speaking out for the
first time about his affair with housekeeper
Mildred Baena, which resulted in a secret child
and the demise of the former California governor's
marriage to Maria Shriver.
In a new interview with "60 Minutes'" Lesley
Stahl, the actor admitted he's not proud of his
marital transgressions.
"I think it was the stupidest thing I've done in the
whole relationship. It was terrible," Arnold said of
the affair, after Lesley pointed out Maria "gave up
her television career" for her then-husband. "I
inflicted tremendous pain on Maria and
unbelievable pain on the kids." Arnold writes of
the affair with Mildred (as well as fathering a
child, Joseph, with the woman) in his new
autobiography, "Total Recall: My Unbelievably
True Life Story," and also reveals he stepped out
on his marriage to Maria with an additional
woman.
The actor said that though the incidents in the
book (which Maria has not yet read, according to
Arnold) may not paint him in the best light, he
wanted to let people in on all parts of his life -- the
good, the bad and the ugly.
"She knows that it's about my whole life," he said
of Maria's knowledge of the tell-all. "I would not
write a book and kind of leave out that part and
make people feel like, 'Well, wait a minute. Are we
just getting a book about his success stories and
not talk about his failures?'"
Adding, "I wanted to write a book about me."
683 Female Pilgrims Deported From Saudi Arabia
The government of Saudi Arabia yesterday

they were not accompanied by approved

Airport and King Fahd Airport in Jeddah and
Medina before they started gradually
deporting them into Nigeria via Kano and
Sokoto airports
Nigerian government yesterday issued a 24-
hour ultimatum to the Saudi authority to
resolve the issue...or... Well, the ultimatum
expired today and hundreds of pilgrims are
still detained.
KILLER WIND
The Nigerian Meteorological
Agency (NIMET) has warned Nigerians to take
precautions against violent winds that may
occur during the dry season, due to the
effects of climate change.
The Director-General of NIMET, Dr Anthony
Anuforom, gave the warning in Abuja.
He said, “We are transiting now from rainy to
dry season; the kinds of things we may
experience are violent winds. Therefore, we
advise people to avoid staying under trees.
“The reason why we alert people is for them
to know ahead of time and take necessary
precautions.
“We have no ability to protect natural
disasters but the ability to observe what the
weather is and inform the people early.”
Anuforom further noted that if forecasts by
the agency were strictly adhered to it could
help save the situation, adding that any
emergency situation could only surprise
people unexpectedly if there were no early
warnings.
“If adequate disaster risk measures are taken,
the number of deaths will decrease because
people would have known what to expect,’’
Anuforom said.
OVER A MILLION NIGERIANS WILL DIE IF NYOS DAM SHOULD COLLAPSE- NEMA
Over a million Nigerians are likely to die
if the Nyos Dam in Cameroon should
collapse the National Emergency
Management Agency (NEMA) has
warned.
The agency made this known at the
presentation of a manual to prevent such an
occurrence. The manual, which was endorsed
on Thursday at a ceremony in Abuja by
stakeholders, aims to put measures in place
to mitigate flood waters from the lake from
affecting the people of Benue State.
The agency said the manual, titled Lake Nyos
Disaster Response Manual, was produced to
“proactively prepare for the disaster that may
arise from the possible collapse’’ of the Lake
Nyos Dam in Western Cameroon.
Director-General of NEMA, Alhaji Muhammed
Sidi, said Lake Nyos was close to Nigeria and
that a 2005 UNDP report had predicted that
the dam was at “a point of potential
collapse’’.
Sidi, who was represented by NEMA’s
Director of Administration, Dr. Zanna
Muhammad, said the report predicted that
the collapse might be caused by gradual
erosion from rain, wind and lake waters, or as
a result of violent volcanic eruption.
The representative of the DG explained that
the report mentioned the possibility of the
breakdown of the dam within 10 years,
adding that the eventual failure of the dam
would result in the discharge of about 55
million cu. metres of water which would
result in flooding downstream.
“It is estimated that between Cameroon
border and River Benue, 50 settlements,
including Katsina-Ala, Kashimbilla, Waya,
Manga, Gamovo, Andie, Terwegh and over
15,000 hectares of land will be flooded.
“Also, over one million people and 20,000
heads of cattle and other livestock will be
affected and could perish,” he said.
He also said that financial losses had been
estimated to be in billions of naira,
comprising of crops, residential and
commercial structures, utilities and
infrastructure, including roads and bridges
and other services.
POLICE BAGS DEATH SENTENCE FOR KILLING 3 YEAR OLD GIRL
Three years after he callously killed a
three year old girl Kausarat Muritala in
cold blood in Lagos, Justice Olabisi
Akinlade of the Lagos High Court in
Ikeja yesterday sentenced ex-police
corporal, Ikechukwu Nwabueze to death
by hanging.
Justice Akinlade handed down the verdict
after reviewing the fact of the case,
according to her, the weight of evidence
before the court showed that Nwabueze had
the intention to kill.
It will be recalled that Nwabueze was alleged
to have in April 2009 shot at a car in which
the parents, the three-year old Kausarat, and
her siblings were commuting at Oba Nle Aro
Bus Stop, Alapere, Ketu.
The condemned man and his colleagues took
to their heels when they discovered that the
there was a fatality.
However, they were later arrested, while
Nwabueze who was later dismissed from the
Police Force, was said to have confessed
during investigation that he shot dead the
deceased little girl.
The convict, however, recanted during trial,
maintaining that he was coerced to make the
confessional statement by the police officer
who investigated the case.
The condemned man also claimed that he
was not the only one that fired shots into the
air and that other members of his team also
did same.
The court pointed out some inconsistencies in
the testimony of Nwabueze while also holding
that a recanted confessional statement does
not necessarily cancel its relevance.
“It is trite law that the confessional statement
of a defendant is relevant regardless of the
fact that it is recanted. It is also trite that a
person can be convicted on the basis of the
confessional statement.
“It is my opinion that the evidence of P1 is
consistent with the testimonies of PW 2 and
PW 3.”
The judge further held that the testimonies of
the prosecution witnesses were not
discredited during cross-examination unlike
that of the defence.
According to her “By his training as a police
officer he (Nwabueze) cannot claim ignorance
of the probable consequences of shooting at
the vehicle.
“I therefore hold that the defendant had
intention to kill or cause bodily harm to the
occupants of the car. I find the defendant
guilty as charged.”
After court reached it decision, counsel to the
defendant, A.O. Omodele made an allocutus
(plea for mercy) for the convict, urging the
judge to temper justice with mercy on the
grounds that he was at his duty post when
the offence was committed and that he was a
first offender. He also said that he was a
young man who was yet to be married and
had a lot to contribute to the nation.
But, the Lagos State Director of Public
Prosecution, Mrs. Olabisi Ogungbesan
opposed Omodele’s plea.
She said: “We do not have enough records of
the defendant. Notwithstanding, the menace
of police in releasing bullets recklessly on
innocent citizens should be discouraged.
While passing out her sentence the court
held that it is not convinced of any reason
why it should show some leniency.
She therefore pronounced: “The sentence of
the court upon you is that that you be hung
on the neck until you are dead. And may God
have mercy on your soul.”

Facebook to adopt add tracking
Facebook is working with a contentious data company called Datalogix, known for tracking people who see adds on social networking sites and go on and buy those products later on.
Amidst pressure to prove the value of its advertising, Facebook is considering new techniques that have raised concerns among some privacy campaigners.
Datalogix will match the email address and other personal information associated with store loyalty cards, with emails and data used to set up Facebook accounts.
Datalogix then compiles a report for Facebook and its advertisers so they can work out which ads work best and what demographic to target.
“We kept hearing back [from marketers] that we needed to push further and help then do a better job,” Brad Smallwood, Facebook’s head of measurement and insights told the Financial Times.
Mr. Smallwood continued that for every dollar a marketer spent on Facebook it earned an additional $3 million in incremental sales.
But some privacy advocates question whether the practice violates the $9.5 million settlement Facebook reached with the US federal Trade Commission, over charges that it deceived customers by not keeping privacy promises.
Currently Facebook users are automatically included in advertising studies with Datalogix and cannot directly opt out through their Facebook accounts.
Jeff Chester, executive director of the Centre for Digital Democracy, a privacy campaigners group told the Financial Times that this practice doesn’t provide Facebook users with sufficient control over their data.
“We don’t believe any of this online-offline data should be used without express consumer approval and an opt-in,” He said.

Beyonce: Pregnant Again?!?
Will another Countdown soon be on for Beyonce?
According to Hollywood Life sources, the singer is absolutely, positively, 100% expecting another child with Jay-Z.
The supposed news broke after Beyonce showed up at La Marina in Washington Heights on September 23 and was clearly showing a baby bump, witnesses claim.
Beyonce and her music mogul of a husband are parents to Blue Ivy Carter, of course, who broke the Internet with her birth about eight months ago.
Asked about his client already planning a second child, Beyonce's rep simply replied:
"I do not comment on her personal life.”
WG does, however. If this story is valid, we're ever so happy for Hollywood's First Couple!
Tactical Baby Kidnapping...
Oluwatoniloba David Obafemi was kidnapped by Comfort Amos on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at RCCG, Central Parish, Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja.
Comfort Amos is a member of the church choir where Timothy Taiwo Obafemi (Toni's Father) is the Deputy HOD of the choir.
Comfort Amos unusually sat where the nursing mothers sat in church on Sunday and particularly sat beside Mariah Toyin Obafemi (Toni's mother), who is also a Sunday School teacher.
Comfort carried and played with Toniloba and after some minutes requested that she wanted to go give her house-help money for 'offering' in the children's church. She left with Toniloba.
After some minutes, Toyin got unsettled and decided to go look for Comfort. All efforts to track Comfort has since proven abortive.
Wole Shonibare, a church member called Comfort and she confirmed she was in Jabi Park and when she was advised to return the baby, she snapped back at him that she will return the baby. All efforts to speak with Comfort after that has been fruitless. Toni is 9months old while Comfort is 40/41 years old.
She was last tracked to Shendam, Plateau State.
In case of any useful info, contact should be made to the child's parents 08075672060 and 08064966277 or the nearest police station. Please do assist in the search.

America’s 400 richest: $1.7 trillion and counting
The United States may be in crisis, but the rich keep getting richer. The net worth of the Forbes 400 richest Americans grew by 13 per cent in the past year to $1.7 trillion, as the gap between rich and poor continues to widen at a staggering rate.
The average net worth of the 400 wealthiest Americans shot up by $400 million to a record $4.2 billion, Forbes said, serving to underscore glaring wealth inequality in America.
Bill Gates, the chairman of Microsoft Corp, is one year shy of topping the list for two decades straight with $66 billion, a massive $7 billion hike from the previous year.
Warren Buffet, the American investor who likely became infamous amidst the uber-rich for proposing a tax hike on the wealthy, somewhat ironically trailed Gates with $46 billion. Larry Ellison, the cofounder and CEO of Oracle, clinched third with $41 billion – up $8 billion from last year. Charles and David Koch, the energy and chemical magnates notorious for bankrolling scores of right-wing advocacy groups, came in fourth and fifth respectively with $31 billion each.
The top five remain unchanged from last year, though collectively they are much richer: all five men are worth $34 billion more than in 2011.
One notable entry on the list – founder and CEO of Facebook Inc Mark Zuckerberg – did not see his fortunes rise, however. The social networking giant’s wealth nearly halved to $9.4 billion after Facebook’s lackluster initial public offering in May. His position dropped from 14 to 36 on the list.
Warren Buffett (Mario Tama / Getty Images / AFP)
The 13 per cent spike in wealth for America’s wealthiest citizens stands in sharp contrast with the overall US economy, as the Federal Reserve recently cut its forecast for economic growth this year to between 1.7 per cent and 2 per cent.
Median workers’ wages meanwhile have been flat over the last forty years. The real minimum wage has also actually declined over the same period from $10.55 (adjusted for inflation) in 1968 to just $7.25 today.
By contrast, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimated that between 1979 and 2007, the top 1 per cent of Americans income grew by 275 per cent. Meanwhile, it is estimated that during the economic expansion between 2002 and 2007, the income of the top 1 per cent grew 10 times faster than the income of the bottom 90 per cent.
The CBO also found that between 1979 and 2005, after-tax income for middle-class Americans (adjusted for inflation) rose by 21 per cent while the richest 0.1 per cent grew by 400 per cent.
Income is the flow of money coming into a household over a year, while wealth or net worth represents the stock assets it has as a result of inheritance and savings.
As America remains embroiled in a jobless recovery, the latest Forbes 400 list confirms a sentiment expressed by Paul Krugman last year. In an op-ed for the New York Times, he said Occupy Wall Street had aimed too low in identifying their enemy, as the movement’s real slogan should read: “we are the 99.9 per cent.”
Teenage Boy Faces Life In Prison For Killing 2-Year-Old Half- Brother
A 13-year-old Florida boy whose life
was plagued with violence and
neglect went from victim to
perpetrator when he allegedly beat
to death his two-year-old half-
brother and sexually assaulted
another sibling.
A year after the vicious attacks,
Cristian Fernandez has been
charged as an adult and is now the
youngest inmate awaiting trial in
Duval County, Florida, reported
WTSP.com, and if convicted, he could face life in prison.
At age two, Fernandez was found unclad and dirty wandering a South Florida street at 4
a.m. while under the 'care' of his grandmother, who had kept him in a dirty, cocaine-
filled motel room. His mother, who was only 14 at the time, was nowhere to be found
and both she and her son ended up being sent into foster care.
Born into violence after being conceived during a sexual assault, life did not get easier
for the boy, who was sexually abused by a cousin at age eight and then severely beaten
by his stepfather, who then committed suicide before the police came to arrest him. His
only defense against the nightmarish childhood was to quash his emotions, "You got to
suck up feelings and get over it," he once told a counsellor.
Other disturbing incidences reported to the Department of Children and Families
included claims that he killed a kitten, simulated sex with classmates and
m*st*u*r*b*a*ted at school.
Now, Judge Mallory Cooper faces a legal and moral dilemma as to whether a child so
young should face life in prison, and whether he can understand the complex issues
surrounding his own case and if he understood his rights during police interrogation.
The defense wants the charges dismissed on the grounds that the U.S. Supreme Court
recently ruled that it is unconstitutional for juvenile offenders to get mandatory life
sentences without parole, and they therefore can't advise their client as to what kind of
sentence he could face.
The controversial case has sparked an outpouring of support from local residents such
as Carol Torres, who has created a Facebook page for him. "He should be rehabilitated
and have a second chance at life," said Torres, 51, whose grandson went to school with
Fernandez.
WOMAN STABS MAN IN THE BELLY FOR REFUSING TO MAKE LOVE TO HER
A heavy-drinking drug user has
been jailed after stabbing a man in
the belly because he refused to
made love with her. Joanne
Buckley, 29, would not let her
victim David Tawes seek medical
help after plunging a knife into his
abdomen and told him she would
say she knifed him because he
tried to molest her.
Teesside Crown Court was told how
the victim would have died had the
blade entered his body millimetres
either side.
Buckley, 29, was jailed for three years for her part in the attack on March 23 this year,
while friend Sophie Borrell, 17, was jailed for six months. The pair came across Mr
Tawes, 20, in Middlesbrough town centre and invited him back to their home in Emerald
Street for a drink.
Shaun Dodds, prosecuting, said each of them tried to instigate sex with him.
Borrell punched him in the back of the head and tried to choke him while Buckley then
went through Mr Tawes’ pockets for his mobile phones and wallet.
The victim was punched again by Buckley, and when he got up and walked towards the
doors asking for his belongings back, she plunged the knife into him.
Mr Dodds said: 'Buckley wiped the blade on a cloth and went to the bathroom to wash
it.
'She was shown the wound and said: “Oh my God” and to her credit, took a cloth to
press on the wound.' But their concern for him appears to have turned to themselves
because they both told him he was going nowhere.
'He said he needed to go to hospital. 'Joanne Buckley said: “I know what, we will all go
to the police station and say he tried to molest us, and that’s why I stabbed him.”
Mr Tawes managed to escape and called police.
Nigel Soppitt, for Buckley, said: “It was another day in her chaotic life - a variety of
drugs and a bottle of vodka each day was completely the norm. The pitiful aspect of the
case is that was everyday for her.
'She would obtain money from wherever and spend it on drink and drugs and be in a
state of oblivion.'
Borrell’s barrister, Joanne Kidd, said she had suffered difficulties that led to her mixing
with older and more sophisticated people and getting
Two Nigerian Students: Victoria Ordu and Ihuoma Amadi Face Deportation for Working Illegally in Canada.
Sitting inside a church, University
of Regina students Victoria Ordu
and Ihuoma Amadi start as a
prairie wind rattles the front door.
Ordu glances over, eyes wary,
before flicking toward the window
at the back of the church she now
calls home.
Sunshine streams through the
glass, but that's the only taste of
the outside world the two girls
have been able to get since June 19, when they opted to seek sanctuary in the church.
The fear of being found by the Canada Border Services Agency and deported back home
to Nigeria hangs over their heads - all because they worked for two weeks at Walmart.
They have spent each day hoping Canadian Federal Citizenship and Immigration
Minister Jason Kenney - the only one who can change their fate - will grant them pardon.
The daily stress of it has, they say, been "hell."
U of R President Vianne Timmons has visited them at the church and the school has
contacted the federal government, throwing its support behind the students' plea to
stay in Canada and complete their education.
Amadi and Ordu have also written letters to Kenney, but no one has had a response.
And so, they wait.
"This is a small mistake we made, and now everything is at risk," Ordu says, clasping
her shaking hands in her lap.
"It doesn't make any sense. They're looking for us like we've killed someone. We're just
students at university ... but it's like we're running away and living in fear every day."
As part of their visas, international students like Ordu - who is studying theatre arts -
and Amadi - international studies - are able to work on campus.
Both in Canada on full scholarships paid for by their government, Ordu and Amadi went
to Service Canada and got their Social Insurance Numbers when they arrived in 2010,
ending up working at the university.
Last year, Amadi found a parttime job at Walmart and Ordu at an agency that does
demonstrations at the store.
Both were under the misapprehension their SINs allowed them to work outside U of R.
Ordu quit after two weeks, as soon as she found out that wasn't the case.
Amadi discovered her mistake during her second week on the job - and was led away
from her till in handcuffs by two CBSA agents.
"They led me through the store, in front of everyone, and all the customers were looking
at me like 'What have you done?'" she recalls, looking at the floor.
"I just felt so embarrassed."
Kay Adebogun is a Regina immigration consultant who has taken on their case pro
bono.
"Why go to that level of force?" he says.
"Why parade her out of there like she's a criminal?"
Barb Pollock, U of R spokeswoman, says while the school respects the fact laws have to
be upheld, it is trying to advocate for a reconsideration of the girls' case.
"We think that the penalty, perhaps, is a bit severe for the crime," she says.
"Albeit that laws have been contravened, in light of what they have done to contravene
the law, we would like them to have an opportunity to complete their education with
us ... (and) we think it is a harsh penalty to be deported."
Pollock says the university has written to Kenney but is yet to receive an indication
when it might receive a decision from the minister.
Both students say they admitted their mistake right away, but think the CBSA's decision
to deport them - which went to an admissibility hearing - is an over-reaction.
"It's a huge deal to finish school, come back (to Nigeria) and help the country," Amadi
says.
"Now to think we lose three years of our lives because of a small mistake? If there was a
fine, a warning, that would be more reasonable. I just wish they could look at this from a
human point of view."
Pollock agrees the case demonstrates how important it is for international students to
understand Canadian laws.
"We have to make sure our students really understand what it means to come here and
go to school - what the opportunities are and, at the same time, what the limits are,"
she says.
"The fact something may not have been clear, you can be assured we're making that
very clear with our incoming students now."
Adebogun would like to see a reversal in the decision to deport Ordu and Amadi, but he
also thinks there are bigger issues at play with how the two were treated.
Of particular concern, he says, is the fact both students were asked by CBSA workers for
names of other Nigerian students who were working and even if they knew anybody in a
gang.
"They agree they did something wrong, but they should have a second chance,"
Adebogun says.
CBSA could not provide a comment on Tuesday but is expected to provide information
on the case today.
Lagos Chief Judge frees 233 inmates from Kirikiri prison
The Chief Judge of Lagos, Justice Ayotunde Phillips on Tuesday granted freedom to 233 prisoners, most of who have been awaiting trials for upwards of twelve years as part of the activities marking the beginning of a new Legal Year in the state.
Prison inmates; 33,692 out of 42,124 inmates across the country are awaiting trial.
130 inmates were released from prison custody at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison while another 103 from the Kirikiri Medium Security Prison.
Justice Phillips who ordered their release during a visit to the Kirikiri prison said that the exercise was “in pursuant of the powers conferred on her under Section 1 (1) of the Criminal Justice Release from Custody Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2007″ and as part of the activities marking the 2012/2013 Legal Year.
She said ” there is a saying in the legal circle that it is better for 10 guilty persons to be free than for one innocent person to be incarcerated.
“We have gone through the list of those recommended for release. So for those of you qualified to be released, you are very lucky that your name has come up. So, go and sin no more”.
Justice Phillips counselled all those who regained freedom on Tuesday to turn a new leaf and go out to contribute their quota to the society.
She recalled that during her swearing in ceremony, she made a promise to decongest the prisons.
Towards this end, she promised that prison visits would not be confined to Legal year activity alone during her tenure.
She said that she intend to pay more regular visit to the prisons during her tenure than what obtained during the previous administrations.
Justice Phillips who noted that there has been a lot of human cry about prison congestion said that all those who qualified under the new criminal administration law would be granted freedom.
Welcoming the Chief Judge, the Deputy Comptroller of the Kirikiri Maximum Prison, Olu Tinuoye said that it is very unusual for chief judges of Lagos state to visit the prisons.
“By this visit, a lot of them expect freedom. It is a matter of regret that Judges in the state have not being visiting the prison regularly. This is why their expectation is very high” he said.
Mr Tinuoye said a lot of the inmates awaiting trials have not found life easy behind the bars especially because they are in custody for petty offences.
His counterpart at the Medium Security Prison, Tunde Ladipo commended the efforts of the Lagos state government for taking care of the prisons.
Mr Ladipo however pleaded with government for the release of more awaiting trials in order to reduce the congestion in the prison.

Prosecutor Sunday Aggoi said that the accused had on Sept. 5 at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, robbed Arinde of N500, 000, $10,000, three gold jewelries valued at N150, 000. The counsel to the accused, Mr Olusegun Ajanaku, urged the court to grant bail to the accused.

Adegun said that the sureties must reside in Lagos State and be employees of the State Government.
The case was adjourned to Oct. 5, for mention.
Nollywood Star Actress Omotola Jalade Denies Butt Implant
Nollywood diva, Omotola Jalade-
Ekeinde has debunked the news
going rounds that she did surgery
to lift her butt, a special cosmetic
surgery procedure to lift bum
thereby making it fuller and sexier.
“The Omotola we used to know
was shapely not as Donklicious as
this. But the dimension of her bum
today is just awesome! Look at
how flat her tummy is. Combine
that with the size of her hips and
…. It all suggests that she must have had a bum lift. What we are seeing today is the
product of cosmetic surgery; bum enhancement. There is no way she can deny it; she’s
definitely had a bum lift,”
However, a close insider begged to differ;
“Omotola didn’t get any bum lift procedure, it’s just her natural physique as a result of
weight gain. She is a callipygian by nature. That is her real physique. What makes it so
obvious now is that she has added a little weight. People should stop spreading rumors.
Okay, if she could do a bum lift, why not breast enlargement as well because we all
know she has rather small boobs. That tells you it’s all rumors.”

Was Messiah married? 'The Gospel of Jesus' Wife' suggests Christ tied the knot...rt.com
A newly-discovered ancient text labeled "The Gospel of Jesus' Wife” could prove Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married. The Fourth-century papyrus challenges one of the cornerstones of Christian religion: that Jesus was celibate.
The discovery was made by Harvard Divinity School Professor Karen L. King, who specializes in Coptic literature, Gnosticism and women in the Bible. King made a presentation of her research on Tuesday evening in Rome.
The Vatican has not yet commented on King’s finding and suggestions.
The papyrus’s authenticity and date have yet to be confirmed; however King and other scholars are pretty sure they are dealing with a real historic gem.
Text written on an 8cm by 4cm piece of papyrus has Jesus speaking to his disciples saying 'my wife' in the Coptic language, most likely referring to Mary Magdalene. The text is written in the old Coptic language on both sides of the papyrus. The inscription on one side is badly damaged and the test is undecipherable. Only two words – 'my mother' and 'three' – could be identified. However it’s the other side that has sparked the interest.
The phrase ‘my wife’ challenges the settled portrayal of Mary Magdalene as a whore and the Christian concept of abstinence. It casts doubt “on the whole Catholic claim of a celibate priesthood based on Jesus’ celibacy,” King told Smithsonian Magazine.
"Christian tradition has long held that Jesus was not married, even though no reliable historical evidence exists to support that claim," King said at a conference in Rome on Tuesday.
